Is the data cable connecting the CD-ROM to the base unit properly attached?

Make sure that the data cable connecting the CD-ROM drive to the computer is properly attached to the computer and the drive.
NOTE: If the CD-ROM drive is a SCSI device, there maybe two cables attached to the drive unit. Make sure that both cables are properly attached to the drive unit and what ever other device the cables are connected to.
